Antique Pair Cinnabar Vases

A diminutive matched pair (5”x3”) of cinnabar vases carved in relief with floral decoration on a lattice-work background over a brass baluster form body. There are different motifs in the elaborately carved surface, including full figural scenes, landscapes, floral and decorations on geometric patterns. The art of carving lacquer is unique to China. It is rare to have a mirror pair.
