WW2 Pilot''s Wings, Sterling Silver Sweetheart Bracelet

This sterling silver USAF pilots'' wings was given to my mom long before I came to be - however, it is actually not too much older than me (smile). What makes this bracelet unusual is its band & closure. I was unable to find another with this same type. You can see how it folds together & snaps shut. You need to put a little pressure on the close because it actually does snap when it''s secure. It all works well as intended & is in very good vintage condition. It is marked AMICO Sterling (pic 7 ). I would say that the shield on the wings has loss of detail & the divisions of this shield have worn away. My mom was in a female orchestra playing accordion & piano in many Milwaukee clubs. She also worked at the USO. I guess the bracelet had an active life. Non the less, it is s piece of this countries'' history. The bracelet measures approximately 2.5" closed, side to side. The wings highest point is .5" H x 1.5" L. The shield is .5" W x 5/16 H.
